Head's Welcome
It is my pleasure to welcome you to Leek High School.
We are a school built on four powerful values: care, respect, curiosity, and community. These shape everything we do — in our classrooms, in our wider activities, and in the way we support one another.
Our motto, “Inspire, Achieve, Believe”, captures our ambition for every student. We aim to inspire a love of learning and a sense of possibility, to help every young person achieve their personal best, and to encourage them to believe in themselves and their future.
At Leek High School, we believe that education is most powerful when it is rooted in care — care for ourselves, for others, and for the world we share. Respect is central to our relationships: we treat one another with kindness, fairness, and understanding, so that everyone feels valued and able to succeed.
Curiosity is the spark that drives great learning. We want our students to ask questions, explore ideas, and embrace challenges with confidence and creativity. Our dedicated staff work tirelessly to create engaging, ambitious lessons and opportunities that inspire a love of learning well beyond the classroom.
We hold close our ties with the local community and industry, recognising the vital role they play in our students’ lives. We work in partnership with local businesses, employers, and organisations to ensure our young people gain the skills, knowledge, and experiences they need to thrive — not just anywhere, but here in Leek and the surrounding areas. In doing so, we prepare them for meaningful careers that strengthen our community for the future.
Community is at the heart of our school. We are proud to be part of a vibrant local area, and we value the partnerships we build with families, local organisations, and one another. Our approach is shaped by five simple school cornerstones, with our daily working ethos summed up as: “Turn up, take part, be kind.” These principles run through everything we do, creating a culture where every individual can flourish both in learning and in life.
